As a designer, I greatly value taking the time to create hand drawn artwork in all areas of design. Stationery design is no exception. When beginning a new piece, I usually start with my medium of choice: pen and ink on recycled paper. Though I already have in mind the style of the invitation I want to create, I leave some flexibility for artistic creativity to flow freely. Once my artwork is completed, I scan it in to my computer where I can continue refining it using professional graphic programs, namely Adobe Illustrator. This allows me to transform my illustration into a vector format, enabling me to customize it with different colors, sizes and layouts.

These two "Enchanting Vines" patterns are inspired by free-flowing vine illustrations. To be honest, I did not have a set pattern in mind before I started. I just picked up my pen and let the design develop freely. Sometimes this is a very successful way to achieve new ideas and creativity...and in this case, make for beautiful stationery designs.

I refer to this pattern as "Lacey Daisy", as it is inspired by vintage, floral lace. Abstract floral elements woven together gracefully make this illustration a terrific border for these romantic invitations shown below.

This design incorporates the same idea of free-flowing vines but in such a way as to form the word "Love". The illustration above was my first attempt at this design, which I later revised in a second illustration to birth the following rustic, fairytale-inspired invitation set.

Friends gave us these beautiful orchids as a house-warming gift and I couldn't help but to get out my pen and sketch them. This became the inspiration for this classy invitation shown in gold and fig colors with bold white accents.

I drew these abstract star flowers while on vacation in California. Rustic chic in nature, this invitation is perfect for a wedding with an outdoor theme.
