A Sort of Space is an ongoing editorial project, which focuses on the object-book production 's process. During ten months I handcrafted eight books, working both alone and collectively. Through the use of limits and self-imposed rules, the editorial production was considered as a formal and conceptual platform for experimentation. In this way the book was conceived as a space for action, reaction and collaboration between multiple subjects, in order to discuss the traditional book's definition. The creative process is transformed according to time and relations, becoming itself the final output. Variables such as time and space were used to create rules, similar to a game, and to rethink the book's physical space and his creation. I produced one copy for each book, which are closely related one to another: every book starts from the last word or picture of the previous one. Formats, modalities, spaces and time are different for each book. In this way, A Sort of Space brings the object-book to craftsmanship, triggering the re-appropriation of the page's space. So far I produced 8 books.
The project was exhibited at Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in February 2017.
