“When we have a project, first we try to find out what we feel about it, what inspires us, where it leads us to and, sometimes, it helps us to learn. Once we have the base of our inspiration we look at sayings, looking for one related with our project to guide us in the process, giving more meaning to our work. In case of the Gerald project we came up with the idea of a hot dog. We wanted to spread some ketchup on it and to bite it. This conjured up an image of a typical New York City hot dog cart where, maybe, Andy Warhol would serve us with one of the better known ketchup brands stamped on his apron. The saying that guided this work is: A hungry man is a hungry man, reflecting our impotence in being unable to eat Gerald.”
