"Mother Nature" (Adobe CS5 Five Weeks of Five)
Week # 1 Design
My submissions for the Adobe CS5 Five Weeks of Five, spent around 23 hours for this.

Originally my starting texture for my background layer filled up only about 1/6th of the original canvas. I utilized Content Aware to fill the rest of it up. I again ran into a similar situation whilst working with the hat portion of this particular female; the mountain stock photograph which I was using apparently was cut off towards the end. I then took my lasso tool and highlighted the selected area, and than used Content Aware to fill up the gap.

The new bristle tips were a great addition to the overall painting atmosphere expressed in CS5. The organic feeling they displayed really helped me out with my painting techniques. The characteristic for one brush to splay so many different styles, and mix several different colors at once, really contributed to the overall water-color effect I was aiming for. I used the paint bristles extensively throughout this piece, from painting to blending, to overall texturing.

Puppet Warp, is one of the greatest additions to CS5. It allows users to better control 3D perspectives, and gives heightened flexibility whilst working with images as opposed to the previous version of CS. I used Puppet Warp to change perspectives on various aspects of my piece. From giving a pain tube a 3D perspective, to wrapping a squirrel’s tail around a tree, to even adjusting painted regions for a more organic feeling, one can hardly deny Puppet Warps value.
