City Icons For Globe Trotter Magazine
The popular travel magazine ‘Globe Trotter' features articles and blogs
by real people traveling around the world. Each month, the magazine will
feature 4 travelers in 4 different cities writing about the place, the food,
the experience, and the art and culture. Globe Trotter has decided that they
want a set of icons to illustrate each of the cities featured every month.
The task is to select 4 cities of your choice and illustrate an icon that epitomizes
each. This should be a universally recognizable symbol and should be unique to the
city. You can pick any style for the icons, but remember, they must uniform so as to
work well together.

The Design
I've used a common theme of unique transportations of each of these cities
and combined them with their iconic monuments or skyline. I decided to go
with this theme because I feel that a lot of attention is often paid to food, people,
and monuments, but somehow we forget about the veins of these cities - transportation.

Why These Cities?
San Francisco, Mumbai, Venice, and Bangkok are four of my most favorite cities.
San Francisco because of its beautiful weather, its fast-yet relaxed culture, and the TRAMS.
Mumbai because of the sea, the people, and of course the kaali peeli (the local taxi).
Venice because of its history, it's houses, and the fun gondola rides.
Bangkok because of its vibrant colors, street food, and the tuk tuks.

Different Fonts Used
I've also tried to use fonts that reflect the city's weather, culture, or mood.
A wavy, stretched out font for San Francisco,
A shadowy font with a red dot (bindi worn by Maharashtrian women)
A sleek cursive one for Venice,
And finally a font that looks similar to the Siamese script of Thailand.
