Exploring Surrealism
In high school I did a surrealistic piece for a project consisting of images that included an hour glass, a fisherman, and a whale, among others. When presented with the issue of coming up with a final project for my drawing class my freshman year of college, I remembered the piece I did in high school and wanted to build upon the idea. I plowed right into it and compiled a bunch of images of the most random objects that I had taken in the past, carefully selecting ones that I thought would look good together. What resulted was an exploration of the relationships between these objects located in unusual and unrealistic environments.
