Inspiring the next generation of greenies
Kelly Tarlton’s, Auckland’s world-famous sea-life centre with a very real challenge — how to connect with Auckland’s school children to deliver a potent message about marine conservation. From the outset it was clear that this was such an important cause and we had duty to reach beyond Auckland’s kids. In the end we proposed an interactive solution with potential to scale nation wide, something more ‘Nat Geo’ than ‘Sally The Shark’.
Connect, Learn and Act
We based this project around a simple idea — marine life is so naturally compelling, so to inspire New Zealand students to connect, learn and act we decided that rather than bring them to us, we’d take the experience to them.
We created a series of 360° video clips for our audience to get up close an personal, to explore and experience what it is really like to be on the other side of the glass in the aquarium. Images, video and interactive elements are woven together to create a series of rich learning pieces that are punctuated by interactive sections designed to reinforce the content blocks. Each learning theme ends with three simple tasks, that the students undertake with classmates or family, empowering and inspiring them to make meaningful change.
A truly immersive learning experience
The end result is a scalable, interactive and rich learning learning experience that is accessible across multiple platforms that will inspire our future generations to have a passion for the environment.
