Vortex is a modular tray inspired by a water plant. The main concept behind this tray is to give users freedom by encouraging the rearrangement of trays to suit their needs. 

The challenge of designing the tray was to make solid wood look light and to make it look like it was floating. The transparent acrylic base as well as the chamfered edge helped give that illusion.
