I've started printing again!

These are from 2016 (Despite what three of the watermarks say- I deleted the brush too early) I was lucky enough to be accepted into a small independent printmaking studio, right near my hometown.

These prints are a continuation of where I left off in my Graduate studies, examining the power of old buildings both religious and secular. This batch focuses on towers. The current series uses my old plate that almost all previous monotypes were printed from. The smaller marks are from past prints. As such, while I'm dealing with the history of Europe as well as my own history in printing.

For me, there's something important about these ancient buildings, silently watching history and current events play out. Rather than the hazy chaos from my earlier works, these are built up stronger and more solid (and with much less ink on the plate) evoking an eternity rather than instant memory.

All the previous prints were done almost exclusively Charbonnel Black (Still my favorite) I made the switch to soy-based "Akua" inks as the studio I work with is non-toxic.

These are all Carbon black Akua intaglio ink, printed on a half sheet of arches cover white paper, (15" x 22").
