In 1938, the co-founder of advertising agency BBDO and president of Creative Eduacation Foundation, David F. Osborn, employed for the first time, the process of ideation organized in which participants wore "the brain to tulmutuar a problem." Thus was born the brainstorming, an operation based on the principle of suspended judgment and rules associated with extremely simple to understand. After that, word reached outstanding success and has become synonymous with the creative process worldwide.
Osborn believed that everyone is potentially creative and creative talent that can be developed. He left, in the work The Creative Power of the Mind, published in 1953, during the height of Structural Functionalism in the Social Sciences and Style interncional in Graphic Design, his techniques and practices through which the imagination can be harnessed applied more productively.
