#yukakotanaka (2013/2017)

Outline
During the solo exhibition "#yukakotanaka" (2013), I launched Facebook page  "#yukakotanaka (Hashtag yukakotanaka)", and posted almost all of my acts I took  (except a sleeping time) and attached "#(Hashtag)" for one month.  On this page, by posting all of my acts in real-time as possible, I'd like to make lose a boundary between social media and real life, and install this page as "my trace of my act".
Furthermore, June  2013 was coincidently the same timing when Facebook adopted "#(Hashtag)" on their social  media for the first time.

Currently on this page, I mainly post the articles and issues that happened on the net  and social media.  Also, the second update was carried out from 3rd Nov to 4th Dec 2013. Furthermore, the third time was updated on 28th Jun 2017.

This Facebook page "#yukakotanaka" in 2013 was the starting point for me to think about  "trace of act" as the theme of my work, and it led my current theme, "existence"  and "existing."

Solo exhibition “#yukakotanaka” Statement (2013/07)
Identity on Social Media Platform is almost myself, but not myself strictly.
Because of the spread of Social Media Platform, "another selves" overflow on the net.

It is impossible to post all of my acts and thoughts on the net.  Therefore, the existence of social media become a fragment of our life or slightly  different from real life.
Even if the account has a real name, it is impossible to represent all of its identity;  as a result, another-self exists there.

If it’s getting more anonymous (like Twitter), the essence is bared, and the real  thoughts and emotions are exposed and revealed. Conversely, if it becomes the real name, it tends to be highly manipulated and skillfully covered their character and real life. In other words, being anonymous gets closer to the essence, and a real name makes  fade away from the essence. These kinds of phenomenon are performed unconsciously  and consciously in every account on social media.

As my first solo exhibition, I thought that I could get a glimpse of current-self by  thinking about the existence on the social media which is myself but not all of myself.
