The old building of the Department of Architecture of the University if Coimbra was once the house of the University's Hospitals. Its walls witnessed the stories of many souls.
This piece is an expressive manifestation of what has been etched in the wrinkles of these walls for over 160 years. Through an algorithm in Java, the cracks of the walls were translated into sound frequencies, giving voice to the stories lost in there.
The old ones — the walls — sometimes say bizarre things. But that doesn't matter, because what the walls say is not meant to be written.
