You can build streets, squares, markets, parks, recreate urban of famous city or just play with urbanism. Sauce is no longer just food, you can use it to build an imaginary road, river, grass or fake lava on your plate. And vegetables can get some new roles too! Sprophisticated geometrical form of the pasta uncovers new experiences with every bite. It’s shape is designed to maximize holding of the sauce. Once it gets inside the only way out is when one squezzes it in his mouth. This pattern has been created as a projection of mathematical curve (x=cos(α), y=sin(α), z=sin(A*α) in domain of α∈<0;2π>) onto a sphere. The semi-close structure allows not only the sauce to get inside the pasta, but also enables to hide olives, capers, cheese or herbs inside.
Sauce sponge
A Voronoi diagram is a specific partitioning of a plane into regions or 3d objects into cells based on distance to points. This feature was used to design of the form. Sophisticated yet very straight geometrical shape unlocks new experiences while chewing. It’s shape is designed to distribute the sauce uniformly and maximize and holding of it’s amount.

Everyone knows that Italy is famous of probably the best pasta in the world, but many of Barilla’s Clients never been to Italy. Italian landmarks shaped pasta popularize some of the well know Italian buildings. Beauty of the Italian tourist destinations attracts lots of people to those places, and because of that it’s hard to imagine the shape of the building without people on it. During the eating you can not only examine the landmarks with your eyes but you can literally taste Italian culture. The collection contains five Italian landmarks: Colosseum, Tower of Pisa, Rialto Bridge, Villa La Rotonda and Giotto’s Campanile.
