PERIFERI
A BUG PACKAGING PROJECT
In the course Communicative packaging project at Mid Sweden University, the brief was to make use of the sustainable protein source that is insects. The assignment was to create a visual concept and packaging for an edible product containing insects.
We created the brand PERIFERI, which is translated to periphery. It's a brand focused on delivering high quality foods with an unexpected twist. The product contains the high-protein larva called mealworm. It's toasted and seasoned with cinnamon for a lovely and healthy crunch, wrapped in the highest quality of swedish chocolate.
The prototype is hand-cut and constructed, and the rose gold foil is glued by hand.
