The photobook "Alternativ leben - die Kommune Niederkaufungen" documents life in this commune. I went there for several days to learn their way of life, document it with my camera, and interview people living there. The book is divided into four chapters: principles, working, living, and characters. Each chapter begins with information that is followed by photos. The cover is made out of linen (a natural material) to emphasize their value of living environmentally-friendly.
