AN AD THAT BECAME POP CULTURE 

One of Portugal’s biggest energy companies was going to launch a new, lighter gas cylinder. As a junior at BBDO, I came up with an insightful campaign drew on the brand’s advertising legacy - The Gas Men, this time presenting the new cylinder:

 “So light and beautiful. Welcome to the era of the Gas Gals. Pluma by Galp. It’s its weight”.

With endless thin legs adorning the cylinder in what some claimed to be the sexiest packshot ever, this TVC quickly become an icon with millions in earned media. The product sold out months of stock within weeks making this one of the most successful campaigns in the country. That Carnival, people demanded a costume of the Gas Gals be produced and sold at Galp gas stations. 10 years on, everyone still remembers it.
