Lamp number 8 is a concept for a tabletop lamp that creates a round area of light around itself on the table, thus illuminating whatever is on the table.

If Lamp nro. 8 is the only light source, the people around the table will remain in the shadow, illuminated only by light reflecting off the table.

There is no on/off switch. Instead the top half of the lamp is rotated to match the form off the lower half. This way, it's easy to tell whether the lamp should be on, or if the Li-ion battery has run out.
