Bustle iOS App Concept (wireframes)

I started this project by doing a quick competitive analysis of apps such as CityMapper and Transit, sketching out ideas, and jotting down a list of top-level information that needed to be most prevalent throughout the flow (i.e. bus routes, scheduling, how to buy tickets, nearby buses, etc.). After these steps, I decided that a bottom navigation containing the most important features should be present on the default screen after login. I laid out a very high level site map of what the initial screens should consist of to get a better visual. In terms of naming the app, I came up with the name “Bustle” when thinking of words that played off of the word “bus”. Bustle is a word that depicts the energy of a city and the never-ending movement of traffic and public transit.

The login screen shows the option to either log in or skip this step. By logging in, the user can access special features of the app such as bookmarking bus stops, setting up alerts and notifications for bus delays or cancellations, or tracking miles and calories they’ve burned while traveling to the bus stop.

The post-login screen shows a map view of the closest bus stops to the user’s current location. The user can also enter in a different location with the search bar above the map.
Once they select a bus stop, they’re taken to a page that provides them with directions to the bus stop by walking or biking, as well as a real-time tracker for bus arrivals.
