In Summer 2016, I wrote one full-length murder mystery/thriller novel. In the four weeks following its completion, I led a team to build a franchise around the novel's story world.
I created two different web pages based upon the plot. The first website is a fictional National Park's web presence. Based upon events in the novel, this website was updated and tweaked throughout the four weeks to simulate the progress in the novel. For example, after a body is found at the bottom of the canyon, the National Park closes its campsites to the public.
Secondly, I created a web presence for a conspiracy theorist's blog. This blog helped expand the novel's events. It also attempted to answer unsolved questions that the reader may have, such as why the park closed, why they were hiding the discovery of a body, etc.
