Ideas and concepts of a sharing based economy can be applied to organize people, needs and resources in a manner that is mutually beneficial to all parties and moreover to society as a whole.

The proposed service attempts to offer community based solutions to the practical problems that come with purchasing, owning, lending and maintaining books. In doing so, it has a broader aim of revitalizing the book as a medium of communication today.

The service connects the owners of books (lenders) with prospective readers (borrowers). An objective accomplished by this model is the introduction of an accessible channel of reading a book that does not require its purchase - a more affordable and hence more universal way of reading books and building communities.

A Business Model Canvas was made to analyse the realities of implementing the service as well as to explore additional possibilities like collaborating with existing public and private libraries.
We implemented a service prototype in college and received an enthusiastic response!
