Italy
Wanderings in Sicily and Rome
2009
There is no greater teacherin the world than the world itself. In 2009 I traveled to Sicily and later to Rome, where I spent a month dedicating my time to making photographs. I learned to speak the language before my trip and emersed myself in life based in Syracusa on the small island of Ortegia. I will always treasure this experience.

Italy is a passion for those who know its charm. The food, people, sights and sounds assault the senses and permeate my memory.

Travel opens us up life to worldly experiences.A photograph, which seems so simple, carries with it therevelation of unification from a distinct point of view. Through the act ofcreation I can search, focus and exhale as the click of my shutter is releasedand an image I value is fixed for what I only hope will be an eternity, wherethere is ample time to consider any moment no matter how foreign or fleeting.
