This animation answered the D&AD 2013 brief set by Channel 4 and MPC agency. The brief asked for a 15 second ident that communicated the channels ethos – i.e. it is driven by social networking.
To answer the brief I looked at old and new ways of communicating and combined the two; the main idea being that birds not only represent twitter but also that they are an ancient form of messenge carrier. As people talk about the C4 programs the birds carry the messages back to the channel. Gestures, computer symbolism and human interaction also played a part in the ident.
