Onbuigzame Trots is a publication I made together with Elisa Cattarinussi & Niels Hofsteenge. It is based on the poem above.
The poem was created at random, following a series of action using 3 books.
We got the assignment to pick 3 random books in the Central Library of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The books we chose were 'Trekking Atlas van de Wereld', 'Nachttrein naar Lissabon' and 'Italiaanse werkwoorden voor Dummies'. Using a random number generator we got numbers and searched for these pages in all three books. On this page, we picked from each book one word. All these words together made our poem.
From this poem we translated each sentence into an image using google images. Then we did two things. (1) We printed the images in black and white on A3 paper, tore them up and put them back together at random. These compositions are showed on the pages on the right. (2) We created very beautiful and abstract line-drawings, which are shown on the left pages.
We printed the publication in the size of 20 x 20 cm and bound it by hand.
In the back of the booklet we made a little sleeve, in which we put this folded A1 poster.
