"Spirit Crucible" is another in my series of abstract digital paintings, dealing with the deformation of line and form. For this piece I restricted myself to a mainly monochromatic palette, with some analogous blue-violet areas for emphasis.

The piece was painted in Krita on a Cintiq 13HD, with some mild post-processing in Photoshop CC. It was designed to evoke a sense of uneasy chaos, and the dense, spiderlike lines throughout the piece are composed of quick, rapid brushstrokes.
