Dr.Oetker Essence Bottle Redesign for Inclusivity

The current Dr.Oetker essence bottles are exclusive to those with adequate dexterity. This hypothetical Dr.Oetker bottle aims to incorporate an inclusive design that allows the large majority of population to use the bottle.

The problem with the Dr.Oetker bottle's design at the moment is that the small twist cap is difficult to remove. In addition, after a couple of uses the bottle cap and the surrounding area becomes oily, thus removing and recapping the bottle is more difficult.
This hypothetical design features a spout and not a cap. This automatically alleviates the stress of twisting the cap on the current design. The spout hole measures 3mm in diameter thus allowing the liquid to drop out at a controllable rate.
Empathy testing gloves were created and used to mimic dexterity problems that users could potentially have. From this testing it was clear that the twisting motion of the cap from the current design was extremely difficult to remove, and even more so to put back on.
The elliptical shape of the redesigned bottle allows the user to have more purchase on the item when trying to pick it up. The oval shape also stops the bottle from rolling if tipped over or dropped. The form of the bottle in combination with the spout decreases the amount of liquid spilt in these circumstances.
This project was not carried out in collaboration with Dr. Oetker. This is an exercise to explore inclusivity within popular products.
