The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is a government of India owned website under the Department of Indian Railways.
It is mostly used for train ticket booking, but also provides services for catering and tourism.It attracts thousands of users everyday and handles traffic even more than e-commerce websites.
But it is generally seen that users, especially new users are reluctant to book from the website.A variety of reasons have been noted but the main issue is the design of the website and how information is presented on the webpage.Given the option users would not prefer to visit the IRCTC website.They would prefer to go to a travel booking app like makemytrip or cleartrip to search for trains and would prefer to book through these apps.
