This was my CIE AS level coursework. My chosen topic was 'claustrophobia'. I wanted to tackle the challenge of depicting a fear through my interpretations. The coursework began with a study of closed spaces and areas that would induce claustrophobia. I then moved onto a study of facial expressions of fear, anxiety and terror. The next step was to study two artists' styles, my chosen artists being Dale Grimshaw, a graffiti artist from UK and James March an optical artist. I then imitated a few of their pieces to get a hang of their style. Then I interpreted claustrophobia using my previous study and the artists' styles.
