The desert southwest of the United States is a place of stark beauty.  Sand and rock blaze with color when kissed by the sun at just the right time.  The brilliant reds, oranges and yellows last for just a few fleeting minutes, but are well worth the trek during the predawn hours to be at the "right place at the right time."
