In the second year of my Graphic Design degree we had a special guest from The Times, come into our class and present us with a brief. This brief asked us to create a map of London that would interest and help incoming tourists of the London 2012 Olympic games. We were asked to think hard about what made London so special and I decided to look into the 'overlooked' aspects of the city. Searching for areas of interest that are less publicised than say Buckingham Palace etc.
I then had to include the Olympic element. I did this by using the symbolic rings and their colour scheme, the idea was to categorise my chosen areas of; Culture, Tourism, Food, Olympic events and Overlooked London into these colours and co-ordinate them with corresponding symbols on the reverse page.
The dimensions where to be an A3 canvas that could be folded into an A6 lanyard.
