    The Pratt Graduate Communications Design department is undergoing a series of changes; the most significant of which is probably the addition of an MFA program (from which I recently graduated). To inform prospective students about these changes, I was asked—together with 4 other designers—to design a book for the department. This letterpressed bookplate will be affixed to the inside cover of the first edition and commemorates the department's 40th anniversary. Since 40 years ago it was 1972, I looked at the design of that time and tried to create something that marries the grid and geometry of Muller Brockmann and the experimental (though classically inspired) lettering of Herb Lubalin.
