Social Distortion album concept

We should choose a visual environment for the promotional work and advertising. I chose "Social Distortion" and created a fictional album
named "White Trash".

All advertising measures and the cover or poster designs are getting its ideas and inspiration from the world of trash, dirt and the streets.

Very special thanks to Larissa Leich & Jana Reddeman of for allowing me
to use
their awesome photo series "White Trash Beautiful".

And another special thanks to Hannes von Döhren / HVD fonts for his beautiful fonts "Brandon Grotesque" and "HVD Rowdy". Really appreciate his work, love his fonts.

The cover has a sticky layer on it. So it is completely white when in stores. After buying, unpacking and using some days & weeks, the title appears more and more.
So every cover gets individual and is just visible through every users fingerprints, dust and dirt traces.
This print ad gives the viewer the opportunity to feel like a punk rock idol. While opening this double side, the perforated layer breaks in two halfs and turns this Les Paul guitar into a piece of trash.
As a little special on portable touchscreen devices, the band website gets dirtier while scrolling and clicking through it. If the website is getting too dirty, the user can wipe away the traces with his full hand.
As a special gift for buying the new album, every fan gets a limited edition used-look bag. There's a transparent plastic bag in it, so that nothing could drop out through the holes. Bag comes with screenprinted album logo on the side and high quality band name patch.
The idea of the fan shirts is that these white shirts are invisibly screenprinted on the inside with album title, band logo etc. The prints have kinda trophy function, because they're just visible when wet. So every user has to earn the privilege of wearing a shirt of social distortion by dancing at the concert or a club to get it visible^^
To gain more attention for the coming album, trashbins in public spaces were painted white and printed with the band and album logo. Heaps of white trash were placed beneath to make the viewer more curious about the album.
