The project is for an architectural school. Its site is located in the biggest park in Sofia – Borisova garden. Previously, there was situated an old railway station – “Pioner” station where it is used to serve for transportation of building materials. Nowadays, most of the area is abandoned and poorly maintained. There are small shops and storage buildings for building materials.

  This makes the location suitable for an architectural school because it will enrichen the place. Furthermore, there are other university and educational facilities near the location and that it is situated in the park which will provide a peaceful and quite environment for the student. There is a good link with the other parts of the city because of two big streets.

  The concept of the building is to make a dynamic composition of rectangular prisms. Each one of these prisms is a functional unit and it is placed to suit the functionality of the school. In the spaces between these units are used for workshops and the library – places where the students are developing their creativity and design skills.

  This dynamic composition of prisms is covered with a secondary roof. Its form is organic in contrast with the orthogonality of the prisms. It is designed to look like a platform of a train station. Moreover, a metal space frame is used as a construction of the roof so it can give the industrial design and beauty in respect of the history of the place.
