Götterdämmerung

Twilight of the Gods Prelude
2015/2016
An audio-visual interpretation of the prelude to the twilight of the gods, which is part of R. Wagner's opera 'The Ring of the Nibelungs'.

The short film focuses on the three norns, daughters of Erda, the deities of Destiny. Gathered beside Brünnhilde's rock, they are weaving the rope of Destiny.
They sing of the past and the present, and of the future when Wotan will set fire to Valhalla to signal the end of the gods. Suddenly the rope of Destiny breaks and so does their wisdom disappear. Lamenting their loss, the Norns disappear.
