Design of entrance in central office building in Oslo for DNB Properties. First impressions are lasting, and being able to invite clients to a well designed office is often one of the main concerns when companies are looking for a new office space. Roald Amundsens gate 6 is centrally located close to the town hall of Oslo, and with many people passing by every day, this is definitely the spot to make an entrance. Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen lent us some inspiration for the space. The faceted walls and ceilings references the environment of the poles, with great contrasts between light and dark, and with "cracks" in the ice. Lighting is fully integrated in the installation, and the contrasts between the black and white space also has an unexpected bonus: creating a space that is easy to navigate for those with poor vision. The new entrance surely had an impact, as the building was filled up with tenants shortly after the upgrade.
