STUTTHOF - CONCENTRATION CAMP

Stutthof
Stutthof is ,a german concetration camp,  created just after the II World War started, and it's considered to be the longest existing concetration camp ever created on todays, Polish territory.
Stutthof camp is placed in a Polish city named Sztutowo, about 22 miles from Gdańsk.
Nowadays it has been turned into ,a museum providing visitors with all the information the historians could  gather about the  6 years of terror which happend there during the war.

" Gate of death "
A pile of soles left from the holocaust of the prisoners
Detention - prisoners were placed here from 1 to 14 days, often given no water or food.
Placing people in the detention room was so common, that almost every single prisoner was there at least once. Many of them died already there, or just after leaving it.
The pressure in the water pipes was so low, that the water could barely get outside making it impossible to wash for a single person. The prisoners were forced to use this room in a crowd, and given almost no time for it.
Toilet
Artists made a small exhibition in one of the camps barracks. The photograph presents potato sculptures, shaped in a form of a  human face. They symbolize the pain of the Stutthof camp prisoners.
Potato sculptures exposed to the test of time wrinkle - what's reminding the aging process of the human body.

*Right now I can't remember the name of the author of this amazing creation, but I'll try to find it
Even knowing about massacres in concentration camps from school lessons, books and tv, visiting it by myself is a non comparable shocking experience which I encourage to witness.
I wish the museum will continue educating people as long as it's possible.
