Da Matteo is a specialty coffee roaster with three cafés in Gothenburg, Sweden. They have been leading an uphill battle against a city full of Italian-style cafés with darker roasted, robusta blended coffee. In an effort to engage more customers in a conversation about specialty coffee, they asked me to design new summer shirts for their baristas and roastery employees. I developed two playful shirts that embrace the word specialty to encourage customers to ask about specialty coffee, rather than baristas preaching to uninterested guests.
