As the routines of life become more and more solidified in our lives, we tend to overlook the details. I photographed this backyard for my senior show in 2004. In January of 2017, I wanted to see what changed and what remained the same. It was an interesting exercise. I found myself remembering details I had forgotten, as well as being able to see how things had changed. I would encourage you to do the same–revisit something that you think you know. Study it as if it were your first time looking it. It could be the face of a loved one, a painting in your wall, or even an image you created years ago. You'll likely discover something new.
