What is a wall?
A wall is an interactive structural element that allows a certain level of privacy, while providing designation in location and program specificity. Low walls (under 5ft) do not allow an acceptable amount of privacy for the average adult. Apertures in a wall can allow for a public or semi-private activity to take place.
As the sun cascades over campus, she crosses the Pratt campus lawn seeking a comfortable patch of grass and a shady location to relax under. She spots a large wall like structure with multiple openings big enough for a person to sit in.
This structure creates a semi-private area for many people to relax in his or her own space, with overhead coverage.
With 3 rows of compartments one can engage in multiple options. This structure allows for people to sit parallel to one another so communication can take place.
