Boosted is a personal game project I wanted to start in order to stablish a concept that had in mind for quite a long time. What you see here is not a sample of the game itself but how I visualize some of its aspects from my areas of expertice, involving title creation, UI design / art, and illustration.
A multiplayer game about antiheroes racing and batteling in a futuristic universe, each one having wrong or unfortunate reasons to win, they differ as individuals but collide in their chaotic life situations, just as we humans do.
The title works as a whole object but also allows the isolation of the "B" to expand the identity, this is especially helpfull for social media.
A flexible graphic object of course, against low and high value backgrounds.
A very straight forward UI flow takes you as quick as possible to the action, Boosted is a game with no fancy features, you get in choose your mode, your character your track and that's it, enjoy the action and repeat the process as long as your "adrenaline" last.

These UI screens above show and evident futuristic visual lenguage, where the contrast between red and blue gives a constant sense of tension.
Graphics and buttons remain minimal but a light level of details in some areas like the ones with circular shape expose how important the object is in the visible space. A cool idea for the mechanics is that each track in the game has a unique "level" of gravity which will determine the speed pilots can reach,  from 1 to 8 if gravity is low the higher the speed and vice versa.

Also as a music fanatic and hobbist musician the audio plays a key role in order to convey the "boosted" mood so a OST production is essential for the project, take a look in the upper right corner of the main screen, you'll see the track name playing in the background and by clicking over it another track will play randomly just for you to enjoy.
I love to experiment and mix tools as long as projects development run, and here a bit of 3D modeling allowed me to explore the concept of a tunnel for the main background, the final result was planned to be a blurry image so a very simple blockout with colors and perspective set was just enough
to get the job done (quickly). I use Modo for 3D btw.

Some graphics that didn't make it at the end but let's not let them in the darkness of a hard drive : )
As mentioned before Boosted characters have in common the fact of having chaotics or unfortunate stories (All of them coming from different planets of the solar system) the point is that the player may feel identified with some of those or at least racing following his antiheroe desires, (This is why you choose a pilot by looking at his/her avatar instead of his/her ship) but does this sound to tragic? that's life! but in Boosted all our pilots may have the chance to escape these situations in a high action combat race!

From the artistic point of view I illustrated the characters with a cartoony tone but adding the mad touch with a trembling line work, note that you can find active / misterious or no visible expresions, which one looks more like you?
