FRED the SMART FROG
"Suddenly, a distinct croaking of frog was heard in a full train carriage. The froggy warble was clear, attractive and pulsating. People looked around in confusion, but a small boy scurried to open his backpack. Those nearby heard him say, “Be quiet! Quiet, I said! Why are you croaking again?” and, to their delight, the boy took a large frog out of his bag. The people could see his slender fingers squeezing its soft sides. The boy put the frog to his ear and whispered, “Hello, mom? Yes, I’m coming. I’ll be there soon. Yeah. In 10 minutes. Bye!” Little orange paws tenderly hugged the boy’s face and the eyes of the little frog brightly shone as they curiously looked at people nearby. Some people grinned from ear to ear, some screwed up their faces, but the boy, obviously used to this reaction, cheerfully kissed his frog on the nose and carefully put it back into his backpack."

I would like to present a case for mobile phones, FRED the SmartFrog. This case looks like a cute toy with some pretty serious built-in functionality. Our main goal was to make an original case for mobiles, aimed at children and teenagers, which would have several functions:

- The case would protect the phone from getting damaged if dropped (children tend to drop items more than adults);
- It would have a storage space for earphones (since a teenager without music is impossible to imagine);
- The case would be bright and obvious so that the child would not forget or lose his phone;
- The case would look cute and amazing to others (children enjoy amazing people around them).

The frog can be given its own name, which would make him a real pet. :) By default, we have called our froggy FRED, because it sounds like FRIEND (actually, it stands for FRiendly Emotional Design).
The case is made from two parts – a soft solid rubber outer cover and a hard plastic case. These different materials serve different purposes. Rubbery soft out casing imitates the body of the frog – we ensured that the texture, density and elasticity of the rubber is as close as possible to the feel of a real frog’s body.
Since the rubber is elastic, the top part of the case can be bent back to allow access to the camera. At the same time, the tough internal plastic part securely holds the phone inside the case. After the photos have been taken, the top part of the frog can be easily returned back to its original place. The earphones can be securely stored in a compartment inside the frog, and accessed through the mouth of the toy.
We have made a range of different frogs, modeled on the real tropical frogs from Asia, Africa and South America. Your child will be delighted at the choice of different colors.
Thanks for viewing!
