Under Surveillance
The project is about the Ultras in Egypt mainly UWK (Ultras White Knights) and UA07 (Ultras Ahlawy 2007). The book is documenting their history and explaining their culture and mentality. The Ultras don’t have a specific place to congregate, they are everywhere, they go together to the stadiums, studios, streets and anything sports related. This topic was specifically chosen because of the passion we have towards sports and the ultras mentality, so we would love to share with others their interesting experiences. Their mentality is one of a kind. The way they communicate with each other and the brotherhood between them is an irreplaceable bond. How a member is committed to his team and to this group is extremely aspirational. One is not required to go through specific procedures to go there, he just joins the group by attending the meetings and matches, following their rules and respecting their mentality. It is a must to stick to the rules; one of them is ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards), ultras are anti-media, commitment, and preferably wearing the group’s shirts while attending the events, if not then the teams' color.
