The idea was to figure out how to tastefully combine an established brand and some kind of upcoming event to come up with a unique ad that celebrates the event first and advertises for the company second. 
I chose Target and Puerto Rico becoming the US's 51st state.
I found that a lot of Target's ads were very simple and subtle, this was the basis for my design. 
I added little elements like changing the "O" in Bienvenido to the trademark red target, then added Puerto Rico's flag to clarify. I had shown the design to a few friends without the flag and they were a little confused, so I found adding the flag helped viewers understand.
