There's a new weapon in the war against greedy seagulls pinching ice cream.
Kelly's of Cornwall has developed the first ever 'Ice Cream Protector'.
A lick of cold, creamy ice cream, with the smell of sea air and the sight of the glittering sea is a true summer experience and it is under threat from pesky seagulls in coastal resorts up and down the country, particularly in Cornwall.

Working with students from Falmouth University, Kelly's has designed this one-off prototype to ensure that its ice cream fans can indulge in their delicious treat without worrying about an impending seagull swoop.
Charlotte Hambling, R&R UK Head of Marketing, said, "Enjoying an ice cream is a time-honoured holiday tradition, but it is being threatened by seagulls!
"We wanted to invent a way for people to preserve the special moment of satisfaction as they hold their cone and savour a taste of summer."
"The device might never make it into mass production, but we were delighted to be working with students from the Sustainable Product Design course at Falmouth University. They're extremely talented, imaginative and have a great sense of fun."
Charlie Clarke's idea, 'The Ice Cream Protector, Seagull Deflector,' was developed and built with Elliot Lunn and other students from Falmouth University.
He said, "We enjoyed the challenge from Kelly's on this project. Our design is not just about avoiding hungry birds, we also wanted to capture the distinctive moment when you take your first lick of ice cream – it's almost like you're royalty!"
Bydh war! Yma golanyn ogas! This year, Kelly's launched the first ever TV ad spoken in Cornish. Proud of its Cornish heritage, it has also produced a Cornish language phrasebook and the essential expression, "Watch out! There's a seagull about!"
