Eastbound is a 2D platformer where you guide a lost dog back home before their owners move away. The player uses the directional arrows to move and jump, and collect 'dog treats' along the way. When the player runs out of lives they are taken to a game over screen, suggesting that the 'player' has become lost, while an alternate end screen shows if the player completes all three levels without losing their lives.
While unfortunately their was no opportunity for a critique, some issues I noticed were glitches in music on level 3, and the spacebar not bringing the player back to the main menu on the game over screen. these could most likely be fixed though by going over the event sheet and making some changes.
Due to scheduling complications, the time for this project was cut in half, and thus many things had to be cut from the final iteration. Eastbound was originally going to have three sets of three levels- each allowing you to play as a different pet with their own game over and victory screens. However the project ended up being a solo endeavor, so there was no way to properly dedicate time to these ideas on top of creating a functioning game.
For the future I would like to improve and expand upon this game, possibly turning it into a full game later on with updated visuals and levels. For that I would also bring on a team as it would be difficult to implement alone.
