It was great to be back at San Diego Comic Fest again at its new location at the 4 Points by Sheraton on Saturday, February 18th 2017. I really liked the new location and convention layout compared to when it was at the Town and Country. Talking with friends who were vendors and in artist alley they were happy as well.
I was also able to present again on the Digital Artistry Workshops track from 4pm - 5pm. I ended up going almost 40 minutes over my one hour time and while I only did a little work in Adobe Illustrator at this workshop I spent a good amount of time on the difference between Typography and the Art of Lettering. I had planned to record this presentation but due to the way I structured it it was not as interactive as previous years. I've included the video at the end of this post from a previous year if you would like to learn how to letter in Adobe Illustrator. Had one lucky winner for the 1 year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription as well.
My son also attended and had a great time in the game rooms playing board and other games. He was able to collect enough tokens to take home some great new games. I also picked up a nice pocket watch for my wife that was kinda Outlander centric. I applaud Mike Towery and his crew for putting on a great comic book show. Look forward to next year!
