I realized this project during my internship at Oblik.
The Brief was to create organic and geometric shapes made with the keys of a piano. The graphic elements had previously been made, I had to use these pieces to create a pattern that was then used for posters and brochures for the call for application for 2018.
inspirations:
This project took me a long time, I realized different types of grids trying to create something not sterile but that start with an idea. For this reason, the employers said  they will likely use the other works for future projects (the event is held every two years). My initial idea was to create the sound heard to evoke the idea of the sound of the piano. So not only a visual image but also a sound image. I made several tests, I did a search to find out what kind of wavelengths could reach the sound of a piano, I tried to create something that would evoke visually the piano sound. With sound waves often what is created is something that recalls the techno music, and this was not my intent. After several attempts I made the final poster using this pattern and inserting the event logo. Another important element is the use of colours. Every year are used the black and  the white associated with a Pantone metal colour.
In addition to the metallic logo this special colour is used for a single element in the munster. The same pattern and the same colours were then used for the realization of the brochure. My role in this project has not therefore to lay out the brochure but to realize the themes for this important event in Europe.
This graphic will then also be used for the event‘s website. As I said earlier, besides the idea of the sound waves, I realized other textures, and two of the them have been selected for the future. The second idea was that of fireworks. In fact the event encourages young pianists to sign up to participate in this competition. The ultimate prize it is very high and the competition is way to introduce themselves to a wide public. My idea was to represent this upward path. The pianists,, as well as the fireworks will embark on their journey of growth, which will lead them to show up and let everyone see their talent.
The third project is however slightly different. To do that I adopted at first a different approach than the previous two. This concept is less intellectual and more practical. The idea was to create the abstract scales, but I wanted by all means to avoid the classic representation of the piano floating in the air, an abused representation that now has lost its intrinsic meaning. The idea, as well as for  the fireworks' one, is that of ascent, the pianists embark on their intricate road to be able to win this award and be successful in the world of classical music.
To avoid falling into the stereotypes I have decided to adopt a more analogue technique. In fact, I printed a pattern on a sheet of paper and started to bend it to see what types of shapes could create. Then I scanned the files that most interested me, and I recreated them with the computer. So I made the third project, starting from the practical experimentation and coming to a digital publishing project.
