Can Serrat is an Artist Residency located in El Bruc Spain. The opportunity here allowed my work to grow in connecting to place and community. Our month stay among artists and writers concluded with a show. Inspired by Sitges and Catalan language, I illustrated and wrote a short story to give to the local Primary School.
Monserrat mountains of El Bruc, Barcelona and Sitges inspired my work during this residency.
The locals have found the Monserrat rock formations to represent regional animals. There alive presence inspired this community of colorful and patterned figures mingling together.
