Anti-Racism Student Association - Campaign

Anti-Racism Student Association

By Vera Wei Wang, Krystal Rujia Tang

Since the election, racist attacks in the US are on the rise. People of color are attacked or harassed more frequently than ever, which causes fear, anxiety, and anger.

Many students of color are also affected. But they are excellent students, who might be blood donors, contributors to Red Cross, volunteers in community services, activists in environmental organizations, etc. or outstanding teachers, doctors, engineers, scientists, economists, artists in the future. They should be treated right.

Anti-Racism Student Association (ARSA) is a support group for all students, with a chapter in each school. We hold group studies, spring outings, festival dinner parties, culture exhibitions, and various kinds of activities to help people with different backgrounds understand each other and be friends with each other. We also offer help to students in trouble or those who might be in trouble, by preventing harassments, offer self-defensing courses, and psychological counseling.

If you need help or you want to offer help, join us. You're not alone.

The idea of the logo is from an orange

Orange is a young and vivid color, so it is chosen to represent students, who are at their best ages. Orange is also an intermediate color made by mixing red and yellow. Thus we hope to unite people of any color together to create this beautiful intermediate color.

Since there are many segments inside an orange, it can be shared among people. And sharing brings friendships. We hope that people with different cultural backgrounds can share their knowledges, experiences, happiness, and sadness with each other, and become friends with each other.

A whole orange has a round shape, which means completed and united. However, in the logo, one segment is taken away, to show that it is not completed now. We invite you to join us to make it complete.
