Food the way they used to be
SFF X Esso Light Petroleum Gas

Ellenborough Market situated at Ellenborough Street was filled with Teochews in during the 1890s to 1960s. The market was later known as the “Teochew Market” but was wiped out by a large fire in 1968. These days Ellenborough Market is most commonly remembered by locals as a cafe for good Peranakan cuisine.

In 2015, the Singapore Food Festival envision to recall the lost flavours of Ellenborough Market by engaging traditional Teochew cuisine hawker stall owners to bring their dishes to the Read Bridge right next to the heart of the youths at Clarke Quay. Through sponsorship, Esso LPG hopes to bridge a connection with the seniors and the youths. The underlying message in this event is to remind people that the best connections is a connection that lasts and this is where food brings people together.
