adidas StellaSport introduces a vibrant and dynamic Spring/Summer 2017 collection inspired by the daring adventures of action girls the world-over. Whether exploring fresh surroundings, taking on new sports with their team or simply working up a sweat, true action girls discover the world around them through movement. From Hawaiian-inspired and mixed grafiti prints, to camo graphics and scuba style cut-outs, this season adidas StellaSport presents a standout collection packed with contrasting colors and dynamic cuts.
In this project I was involved in all parts of the creative process. It began with a market and consumer research trip to Los Angeles, California where we got the inspiration to "kick off" the Creative Direction that would later on be reflected on the styles throughout the collection. I designed the accessories range, assisted with the Footwear color proposals and helped the apparel team with the tech packs and the style lookbook of the season.
Spring Summer 2017 inspiration
This season’s StellaSport collection is brought together by an active gap year theme, with versatile pieces designed to be worn to climb rocks, run trails and explore nature’s tracks. Built with adventures in mind, head- to-toe outfits featuring breathable materials and strategically placed cut-outs offer total comfort whether running, climbing or hiking. For skater girls looking to dominate the streets, 90s-inspired pieces showcasing block layers and nature- inspired prints are ideal for tackling challenging kick- flips in.
Pull ups and bench jumps; nothing’s too challenging for the Stellasport action girl. Grafitti graphics and bold orange pieces embossed with the Stellasport
logo should be worn to highlight standout acrobatic skills. After challenging sessions, any look can be transformed for the boardwalk with matching oral graffiti prints and this season’s retro-inspired kicks.
Hoop-shooting court looks reach new levels with playful pastels and camouflage prints. From drills to dribbles, energetic separates crafted with breathable mesh ensure ultimate freedom of movement. Meanwhile, carefully placed cooling cut-outs offer an additional style edge, while footwear designed with stability in mind allow the wearer to keep up the pace.
